I was a summer associate at a law firm in San Francisco in 2018 when I did my research for the best keratin treatment in the Bay Area and discovered Will at iHairbook. I was amazed. In the fall, I returned to Boston, MA for graduate school. A couple months into the semester I needed another treatment, but being in Boston, I had to find another Will. I tried a couple salons. None of the stylists could compare to Will. The next year I went to New York to visit friends. While there, I researched the best keratin stylists. I tried two. One was quite good, but again, neither could compare to Will. Last year I relocated to Washington, DC. Before risking a bad stylist, I called Will and asked for the products he uses. I sought out a salon that uses what Will uses. At that salon, I went twice over the course of last year, each time to see a different stylist. To my amazement, Will’s treatment was STILL the best (and remember, they used the same products!).
I’m in SF this week visiting family and so I naturally saw Will today! I told him about my experienced and he explained that although stylists may use the same products, their techniques differ. He was right! I just got a treatment and it was as phenomenal as it was in 2018.

I've always been hesitant about getting salon services in the US because it gets so expensive! But my baby is about to turn 1 year old and I wanted to pamper myself after my hair had fallen off from pregnancy and it's become so frizzy; I just don't have the time to style it because I've been busy taking care of my baby.
Finally decided to go for an organic keratin so I won't have to worry about my hair on the daily. I did a ton of research and finally decided on iHairbook because of all the good reviews.
First things first, booking was easy. Ihairbook had a website with scheduling but always best to text the owner Will to confirm. I asked Will if there was availability on the date I wanted and also sent pictures of my hair to get an estimate. Will replied super promptly, I was lucky that there was an opening and I was booked within minutes. Feeling spontaneous I decided I wanted a balayage too, since I was going to the salon anyway and been wanting to have one for ages. I asked him if it was possible to add it to the appointment and he said yes!
I came to my 12pm appointment, and all the reviews were right--immediately I could feel the accommodating presence of the owner. Will is super nice, he is so easy to talk to. I'm an introverted person and he was respectful when I wanted my quiet space, but ready for conversation too.
We started with the balayage first; I wasn't sure what I wanted and asked him for his recommendation. I have jet black hair and some remaining box-dyed hair on the tips. He suggested an ash brown color and it did look nice so I approved. The procedure lasted about 2 hours.
The organic keratin (formaldehyde free) came next. Will gave me eyeglass to wear, and opened the door and air filter to provide ventilation. The procedure took 1.5 hours.
Final step was a trim, and I let Will decide on the style and bangs. He particularly considered my lifestyle and I trusted him with the cut.
In total I was in the salon for 3.5 hours and time just flew by. (I had my phone and there was a TV and magazines for entertainment). When it was time to settle the bill, Will gave a really fair price.
All in all, it turned out well. I look so fresh again, thanks so much Will!
Was waiting for 3 months to write a review. Had a haircut and Nanoplasty treatment. My hair still looks amazing! Even better! Haircut was so good that even 3 months later people are asking me did I just had a haircut! I need to have haircut again just because my hair is too long now. Will, see you soon!
Will is definitely a specialist in keratin treatments. He knows hair and how products work on your particular hair. Now that I have used him 2x I would not go anywhere else. I have had bad experiences, even at high end salons, with breakage and treatments that don't do what they are intended to, or take treatments that take SO long. Will is efficient (quick in the world of Brazilian blowout and Keratin treatments) but in no way skimping on process. It is all a great experience with a great outcome. I had the Organic Hair Botox treatment.
I will only see Will at iHairbook for my Organic Keratin treatments! I have very thick hair and was especially impressed by how little time the keratin treatment took. In the past, I avoided straightening treatments because they made my hair too flat, but Will's technique leaves my hair smooth and shiny while still keeping some of its natural waves and body.
I also followed his post-treatment advice, and my results lasted about 4 months. Will is friendly, knowledgeable, and takes pride in his work. I would definitely recommend him if you want smoother hair without losing all of your natural texture!!
Will is a true artist! I live in NYC and discovered his cute salon on a recent trip to my former neighborhood in SF. He does a masterful job and my hair is still looking
good 5 days later! Moreover, he took me on short notice and I couldn’t be happier. So, he is Highly recommended. Skip the no parking expensive salons downtown….
This was my first experience with keratin treatments, and I couldn't have picked a better salon! Will was immediately responsive and got me in for an appointment the next day. He has created an incredible vibe in his cozy studio home to help his customers feel comfortable and well-cared-for. And interacting with him is a dream--he is so observant and kind, respectful and funny and playful 🙂 Such an easy 90-min appt and now my hair is so silky straight, for the first time ever. Where has this treatment been all my life? I will be back! <3

Will is the owner of this hair studio and he is absolutely amazing. He is very talented and worked real magic on my hair. He completely transformed it with his Organic Keratin solution and then finished with the perfect haircut. First time customer here , Will (the owner) recommended the Organic Keratin because my hair was so dry from the color & highlights , that was the right choice for me to get this treatment for silky , smooth hair aftercare. The main reason is to get rid of the frizz , make the hair smoother

Will is amazing. His skills are impeccable. I am so happy with my hair and my experience. I traveled an hour to be serviced by him and I will be doing it again. He went above and beyond by helping me fix a haircut done poorly by another salon and he was a wonderful conversationalist. He is also so fast!! He did my Nanoplasty and the cut in just 2 hours. I highly recommend him and will try Hair Botox next time.
I just had my third Organic Keratin treatment with Will this past week.
My last treatment was late April, so it lasted for four months. I have extremely frizzy/curly hair and I can’t believe how smooth my hair is. Blow drying it is a snap – it takes about 5 minutes vs. 30+ trying to straighten it myself, and still having the frizz.
I love the location – I get there about 30 minutes early so I don’t have to stress about parking since it’s surrounded by apartments and homes. The last two times I found parking right away and took a nice walk before my appointment.
I drive up from Los Altos, and it’s totally worth the trip up to SF. I haven’t found anyone down in the South Bay who does such an amazing job as Will.
I have been to iHairbook Salon twice and both times will has not disappointed. Great customer service, quick responses, amazing hair straightening treatment. I have gotten organic keratin treatment twice and both times my hair has come out super silky, smooth, and healthy. Could not recommend this place more so good great results and amazing environment!!

Will is the best, offering the real authentic Organic Keratin (formaldehyde free) you also can’t get downtown or most anywhere else and …. The salons downtown don’t have enough ventilation to perform this treatment or others chemical! so you end up paying full price for a half baked job. The other salons tell you it’s a Brazilian then when you get there it’s some type of a Keratin treatment – not all what I’m looking for.
Will was also trained at Sassoon and knows how to trim and style very long hair without chopping it off! Since I’ve been victimized by ruthless stylists, I am wary but Will walked me through it step by step making sure he fully understood what I wanted before nary a snip of my locks. Moreover, he’s very responsive to text messages and even books appointments on Sunday afternoons which is about the only free time I have.
So I’m rating iHairbook 5+ stars both for the owner, Will, and this quaint boutique salon!
